It was an emotion-packed atmosphere at the Ikeja High Court on Friday
21st February, 2014, as Mr Akolade Arowolo was sentenced to death by
hanging over the murder of his wife, Titilayo. The judgement was given
by Justice Lateefat Okunnu, who said prosecutors proved their case even
though there was no eyewitness as at the time the act was committed.
Mr Arolowo cried out loud with a Bible in his hand, shouting that he
cannot die because of this matter as he is not guilty of the murder of
his wife, and that the Judgement is not right...
But is he just crying foul or he is saying the truth? Could it be that
someone else killed his wife just as we have seen in Nollywood movies
and he only got home to find his wife with several stabs and decided to
run away so he wont be accused of killing her?
Could it be that Arowolo made a mistake my running away after finding
his wife's corpse with several stabs on her? Or is he actually the one
who killed her and he is just trying to play on our intelligence?
Can a sane husband actually stab his own wife about 70 times? Is this possible?
