Caskets from graveyard float through the streets after devastating flood in Lousiana

In shocking photos showing the devastation following floods in Louisiana, caskets that had washed up from a graveyard floated down the street in Denham Springs.

President Barack Obama declared Louisiana was in a state of disaster on Sunday after the historic flood left at least five people dead, with emergency crews working to rescue thousands more.

Governor John Bel Edwards said more than 10,000 people are now in shelters and more than 20,000 people have been rescued across south Louisiana.

More than a foot of rain fell overnight on Friday - in a deluge estimated to occur once every 500 years, according to the Pacific Standard.

RuggedMan & 9ice are back together!

After so many years of beefing each other, this two big names are back together as friend. See what Ruggedman wrote below.

"What 9ice and I did for the industry with the song Ruggedy Baba is huge and more important than any alleged beef.
That's why I decided to make the new song about our positive contribution to our industry and not about beef.
I decided not to add anything about the past in the new song "Religion" cos that's one negative, misinterpreted aspect of our lives I want buried with the past."

Christians commit more wicked crimes against humanity than terrorists – Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan spoke in Benin City at the General Assembly and Executive National Council Meeting of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

Abubakar said though Christians were not believed to be terrorists but they committed wicked crimes against humanity.

He, however, hailed the Pope for making a very strong statement defending Islam as a religion of peace.

On the hijab controversy, the Sultan said: “Hijab is our right not a privilege. It is not a favour to us. It is our right.

“And we hold on to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria that guarantees freedom of worship.

“That is why we don’t disturb anybody who wants to go and worship the way he wants.”

He added: “Nigeria is a multi religious state, not a singular state. And being a multi-religious state, we must allow the various religions to go on but we must not trample on each other’s right, which means I must be allowed to practice my religion the way I believe as ordered me by the Holy Quran and nothing else.

“So when we get this done, the issue of hijab and so many other things affecting Islam, I believe is our right, not a privilege, unless the Constitution is changed.”

On bad elements in Islam, he said: “Those bad people among us, like in other religions, we should pick them out and teach them the tenets of Islam.

“If they refuse to change, that is their own problem. We will meet with the creator on the judgement day.

“In any society, there are many terribly bad people. So many, who are not Muslims but carry out criminal activities with some Muslim organisations in America, France and even in Nigeria.

“Those people doing negative things should be called criminals or terrorists but not Muslims.

“I’ve never heard of Christian terrorists but we have heard of so many Christians or followers of other religions who committed heinous crimes against humanity.

“But they didn’t claim to do it for their religions and we did not hold them against their religions.”

Nigeria wins RIO Opener vs Japan

(Clarification: An earlier version of this story referred to the Nigerian men's soccer team as the "Super Eagles," but that name is reserved for the full side, not the Olympic team.)

Nigeria’s men’s soccer team made an extraordinary start to its Olympic campaign, beating Japan 5-4 in Manaus on Thursday just hours after landing in Brazil following a nerve-wracking travel mix-up.

The team was stranded in Atlanta for days amid a bizarre saga that saw flights cancelled because of missed payments and because a plane was too small, before eventually taking off on the morning of the game.

The Nigerian squad eventually landed in Manaus at 2:19 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, with the game against Japan beginning at 9 p.m.

However, despite what would seem to be the worst kind of preparation, Nigeria produced an inspired display to sink Japan. The contest was evenly matched in the opening stages, with honors remaining even following a frantic opening burst that produced four goals in 10 minutes.

Sadiq Umar put Nigeria ahead just five minutes in, before Shinzo Koroki equalized moments later from the penalty spot. Oghenakaro Etobo put the African side back in front, only for Takumi Minamino to again make things all square.

But when Etebo put Nigeria back in front after 41 minutes the tone was set. Etebo completed his hat trick after 50 minutes, calmly slotting home his fourth to make it 5-2 on 65 minutes.

There was still time for some late drama though, as Nigerian legs, not surprisingly, faded late. Takuma Asano pulled one back with 20 minutes to go, and Musashi Suzuki narrowed the gap to one deep into injury time.

However, Nigeria’s night of glory was completed seconds later when the referee blew for full-time, finishing off a remarkable, and exhausting day for a team whose plight captured international attention and sympathy.
