Photos From Tayo Sobola’s Studio Opening & Birthday Bash

Nollywood actress cum producer, Tayo Sobola better as Sotayo has joined the growing list of popular celebrities who have opened line of businesses aside acting.

The actress launched her corporate office which boasts of a state-of-the-art TV production studio, latest movie cameras, production gadgets and an editing suite on Monday, December 28, 2015.

The event which also marked the birthday celebration of the thespian witnessed the attendance of friends and other close relatives of the actress such as popular actor, Afeez Owo, Iyabo Ojo, Biodun Caston-Dada, Segun Ebony of Klux Prints, Billy QueB, Ronke Odukoya,Ademola Moreklue among several others. Mikel Obi: Chelsea's atmosphere's much better now than under Jose Mourinho

Chelsea and Nigeria midfielder John Mikel Obi says Chelsea is much more happier under Guus Hiddink and have a better atmosphere in the team than under former manager Jose Mourinho, who was removed by the club owner, Roman Abramovich, before Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Sunderland on 19 December. Obi said;

"We’ve moved on and the atmosphere has improved since the change of manager. It’s fine now, we’ve just not been getting results. José is a fantastic manager and will always be a fantastic guy. But sometimes football is a cruel game and you have to move on.

He came back to the club a second time and won two trophies but now he’s gone and we have to move on. Is it the right decision? Who knows? We’ll only see in the future. “He [Hiddink] hasn’t changed much yet but he was here before and he knows the place and all the staff. The players are different – only me and John Terry were here before – but he knows what to do. We’re down there in the table for a reason so he can’t come in and perform miracles but we want to get out of there and climb the table. We’ve had three games now without losing so are making the right steps. I’ve been as confused as everyone else,” he said.

“It’s difficult when you’re not playing, as you don’t really know what the problems are. I wasn’t playing that much under Mourinho so couldn’t put my finger on what was going wrong. It was a collective thing – the players and the manager were not performing.” he concluded

Mikel also feels Man Utd played for a draw just like Chelsea were content with a draw at their recent clash at Old Trafford.

“Sometimes you could see in the game (against Man Utd) that they had chances to attack but were a little bit sceptical or hesitant. Maybe they were a little bit scared. “I don’t think they were really scared but just a bit cautious. They were playing not to lose as well. Because of the fast players we have up front, who can break, they were cautious and approached the game not to lose. Both teams are not in the right place right now to attack, attack, attack, attack. Sometimes you have to be smart and settle for a point.”

Couple who were seriously injured in an accident 4 days to their wedding say 'I do' in the hospital (photo)

No, she's not dead...just seriously injured. Miriam Gakenia,31, and her fiance James Mwangi, 27, had gone to buy wedding items but were injured in a road accident at Kiangwachi area along Nyeri-Nairobi highway on Tuesday, December 15. Their wedding was to take place at Dominion Towers Deliverance Church today, Saturday December 19.

Gakenia suffered a right hip joint injury and a broken right arm while Mwangi's right hand was injured. He had been treated and discharged but she could neither sit nor stand. The couple exchanged their vows at Outspan hospital today, with nurses as her bridesmaids.

"The wedding had to go on. We had prepared for six months. The devil was not going to get in the way. She would have become my wife even if she had lost her legs," Mwangi explained.

Gakenia said from her hospital bed: "I informed my doctor of the wedding and told him we were not ready to postpone it."

She said the hospital agreed to hold the wedding on its grounds. Nurses and matron Jane Wamucii escorted her to the location on her bed.

Gakenia and Mwangi had difficulties putting on their wedding rings as their hands were in casts but they exchanged their vows in what Reverend Stephen Mungai described as "a first in Nyeri".

It was also difficult for them to sign their marriage certificate and to share their wedding cake, but these paled in comparison to the exchange of vows at the emotional ceremony.

"I have never conducted such a wedding. It shows far love can go. It is a lesson in sticking with your vision regardless of hurdles, and eventually reaching your destination," the reverend said.

The couple did not have a photo shoot after the wedding but was taken to a private room at the hospital where Mwangi sat by Gakenia's bed for hours.

Gakenia, a system administrator at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, will remain at the hospital for six weeks.
